Kudosity, previously known as Burst SMS, is used in EasyVend to send SMS cut-off time notifications to customers who have not yet placed an order before the cut-off time. SMS notifications can be sent manually from the Cut-Off Time Notification screen, or automatically if automatic cut-off notifications are enabled in General Settings.
Overview
Kudosity SMS can be used to remind customers to place their orders before the cut-off time.
Before SMS notifications can be sent from EasyVend:
1. Kudosity SMS must be activated for your EasyVend account.
2. Your Kudosity account setup must be completed.
3. Your SMS sender number must be set up correctly.
4. SMS must be enabled for the customer in EasyVend.
5. Cut-off Time Notification must be enabled for the customer.
6. Cut-off times and notification templates must be configured in EasyVend.
Kudosity SMS must be activated by JealTech before SMS cut-off time notifications can be sent from EasyVend.
If you would like to use SMS notifications, please contact the JealTech Support team on (02) 9188 4470 or email support@jealtech.com.au.
JealTech will assist with activating the SMS service for your EasyVend account. Once your Kudosity account has been created, you will receive an email with your login details and setup instructions.
After receiving the email, you will need to:
1. Log in to Kudosity using the details provided.
2. Read and accept the Kudosity Terms and Conditions.
3. Add your billing details.
4. Set your preferred auto recharge amount, if required.
5. Update the temporary password to your own secure password.
Once this setup is complete, SMS cut-off time notifications can be configured and sent from EasyVend.
SMS Sender Number
The SMS sender number is the number your customers will see when they receive an SMS notification.
To keep your SMS setup simple and compliant, we recommend using a mobile number or virtual number as your SMS sender.
The sender number should usually be entered in international format, without the plus sign.
Example:
61412345678
Avoid using a company name, brand name, or text sender such as:
NO-REPLY
MYCOMPANY
MilkCO
These are known as alphanumeric Sender IDs and may require additional registration before they can be used.
If you are unsure which sender number to use, please contact JealTech Support before sending SMS notifications.
Important Note About Alphanumeric Sender IDs
Some businesses previously used alphanumeric Sender IDs, such as their company name or “NO-REPLY”, instead of a standard phone number. Due to Australian SMS Sender ID requirements, alphanumeric Sender IDs may need to be registered before they can be used. To avoid delays or additional compliance steps, we recommend using a mobile number or virtual number as the SMS sender. If you wish to use a company name or branded Sender ID in future, please contact JealTech Support first so this can be reviewed with Kudosity.
Customer Setup for SMS Cut-off Notifications
SMS notifications will only be sent to customers who are set up correctly in EasyVend.
To enable SMS for a customer:
1. Go to Customers > Customers.
2. Search for and select the customer.
3. In the Customer tab, check that the customer has a valid mobile number.
4. Under Contact Methods, tick SMS.
5. Click Save Changes.
EasyVend will use the first available phone number in this order:
1. Mobile
2. Mobile 2
3. Phone
If the customer does not have a valid phone number, SMS notifications cannot be sent to that customer.
Enabling Cut-off Time Notification for a Customer
After enabling SMS as a contact method, Cut-off Time Notification must also be enabled for the customer.
To enable this:
1. Go to Customers > Customers.
2. Search for and select the customer.
3. Open the Options tab.
4. Tick Cutoff Time Notification.
5. Click Save Changes.
This allows the customer to receive cut-off time reminders when they have not placed an order.
Configuring Automatic Cut-off Notifications
Automatic notifications are configured in General Settings.
To set this up:
1. Go to Settings > General Settings.
2. Select Cutoff Notifications.
3. Tick Enable auto send notification.
4. Enter how many minutes before the cut-off time the notification should be sent.
5. Review and update the SMS notification template if required.
6. Click Save Changes.
Automatic notifications are only sent to customers who have Cutoff Time Notification enabled in their customer Options tab.
Notification Templates
The SMS notification template controls the wording of the SMS message sent to customers.
To review or update the template:
1. Go to Settings > General Settings.
2. Select Cutoff Notifications.
3. Find the SMS notification template.
4. Click Edit.
5. Update the wording if required.
6. Click Save Changes.
Keep SMS messages short and clear. Longer messages may use more SMS credits.
Example message:
Hi [CustomerName], this is a reminder to place your order before today’s cut-off time. Thank you.
Do not change placeholder fields unless you are sure they are correct, as placeholders are used by EasyVend to insert customer or order details automatically.
Sending Manual SMS Cut-off Notifications
Manual SMS reminders can be sent from the Cut-Off Time Notification screen.
To send a manual SMS reminder:
1. Go to Customers > Cut-Off Time Notification.
2. Select the delivery date.
3. Filter by round, group, or customer if required.
4. Click Search.
5. Tick SMS for the customers who should receive the reminder.
6. Click Send SMS.
Manual SMS notifications can be useful if you do not want reminders to send automatically, or if you need to send reminders only to selected customers.
