Volume Pricing

Updated 12/06/2026 Products and Prices Orders Customers

The Volume Pricing option in the Stock menu allows you to set up automatic discounts for products when a customer orders a specified minimum quantity. It is useful when you want to offer quantity-based discounts, such as a percentage or dollar discount once a customer orders a certain number of units.

To use Volume Pricing, you must:

  1. Create a Volume Pricing rule.
  2. Assign the Volume Pricing rule to a product.
  3. If the rule applies only to selected customers, enable Volume Pricing for those customers in their Standard Orders tab.

If any of these steps are not completed, the Volume Pricing discount will not apply.

Overview

Volume Pricing applies a discount automatically when the quantity entered in an order meets or exceeds the minimum quantity set in the Volume Pricing rule.

A Volume Pricing rule can apply to: All customers or Selected customers only.

If the rule applies to Selected Customers, the product must also be enabled for Volume Pricing in the customer’s Standard Orders tab.

Volume Pricing can apply when orders are entered or updated in:

  • My Orders

  • Quick Entry Orders

  • Weekly Order Edit

  • Online Orders

Creating a Volume Pricing Rule

To create a Volume Pricing rule:

  1. Select Volume Pricing from the Stock menu.
  2. Click Create New.
  3. Enter the details for the pricing rule:
    • Pricing Name: Enter a name to identify the Volume Pricing rule.
    • Discount Type: Select whether the discount is a Percentage or Dollar Value.
    • Applies To: Select whether the rule applies to All Customers or Selected Customers.

To add the discount levels:

  1. Click New Level.
  2. Enter the Min Qty.
  3. Enter the Discount.
  4. Repeat for any additional levels required.
  5. Click Save Changes.

The Min Qty is the minimum quantity that must be ordered before the discount applies.

For example, if the Min Qty is 10, the discount will apply when the customer orders 10 or more of that product.

Automatically Recalculate Discount

The Automatically apply Volume Pricing Discount when changing the quantity on existing order item setting determines whether EasyVend recalculates the Volume Pricing discount when the quantity is changed on an existing order item.

If you want EasyVend to recalculate the discount automatically when quantities are updated:

  1. Tick Automatically apply Volume Pricing Discount when changing the quantity on existing order item.
  2. Click Save Setting.

If this setting is not enabled, the discount may not be recalculated automatically when an existing order quantity is changed.

Assigning Volume Pricing to a Product

Once the Volume Pricing rule has been created, it must be assigned to the product.

To assign Volume Pricing to a product:

  1. Select My Products from the Stock menu.
  2. Search for and open the required product.
  3. In the Details tab, locate the Volume Pricing field.
  4. Select the appropriate Volume Pricing rule from the drop-down list.
  5. Click Save Changes.

Once the rule is assigned to the product, EasyVend can apply the Volume Pricing discount when the order quantity meets the minimum quantity.

Enabling Volume Pricing for Selected Customers

This step is only required if the Volume Pricing rule applies to Selected Customers.

To enable Volume Pricing for a selected customer:

  1. Select Customers from the Customers menu.
  2. Search for and open the required customer.
  3. Select the Standard Orders tab.
  4. Locate the Volume Pricing column.
  5. Tick the checkbox for each product that should use Volume Pricing for this customer.
  6. Click Save Changes.

If the Volume Pricing rule is set to Selected Customers and this checkbox is not ticked, the discount will not apply for that customer, even if the product has a Volume Pricing rule assigned.

How Volume Pricing Applies

For Volume Pricing to apply:

  • A Volume Pricing rule must exist.
  • The Volume Pricing rule must be assigned to the product.
  • If the rule applies to Selected Customers, Volume Pricing must be enabled for the product in the customer’s Standard Orders tab.
  • The quantity ordered must meet or exceed the minimum quantity in the rule.

If the order has already been Delivered, Invoiced, or marked as Docket Printed, pricing cannot be changed.

Notes

If a Volume Pricing discount is not applying, check that:

  • The Volume Pricing rule has been created and saved.
  • The rule has been assigned to the product in My Products.
  • The ordered quantity meets the minimum quantity.
  • If the rule applies to Selected Customers, the product has been enabled for Volume Pricing in the customer’s Standard Orders tab.
  • The order is still editable.
