Rental Asset Management

The Rental Asset option in the Stock menu is used for managing rental assets; the assets that are then used to set up rental fees for customers.

To enable Rental Asset Management, please contact the JealTech team on 02 9188 4470.

Initially a list of existing Rental Assets is displayed. In this list screen you can:

  • Change the sort order of the list by clicking on a column header
  • Show/Hide Inactive rental assets
  • Use the search function to find a specific asset by Name or Serial Number, or to limit the list to show only rental assets for a particular Asset Type
  • Select an existing rental asset from the list to display its details

Once you have selected or created a rental fee, the rental fee details screen will enable you to:

  • Update the details of the rental asset
  • Mark the rental asset as inactive

Adding a New Rental Asset

New rental assets can be added from the rental asset list or from the rental asset details screen of an existing rental asset.

  • Click Create New
  • The New Rental Asset tab is displayed
  • Enter the details for the new rental asset
  • Click Save Changes

Rental Asset Tab

  • Serial Number: A unique number to identify the rental asset. This could be the physical asset’s serial number, or a model number for a range of assets.
  • Asset Name: A name for the asset.
  • Asset Type: The type of asset. Asset Types can be configured in the Lookup Entity screen.
  • Billing Frequency: How often a customer would be invoiced for the rental asset by default.
  • Rental Price: The default price for this asset including GST.
  • Inactive: Whether the rental fee is active or not.
  • Note: Notes for the rental asset.

Rental History Tab

This tab contains a list of all Rental Fees for this rental asset, including the rental fee’s Start and End, Customer, Description, Billing Frequency, Total Amount, when it is paid up to and whether the rental fee is active or not.

Invoice History Tab

This tab contains a list of all Invoices for this rental asset, including the Invoice Number, Date, Customer, Rental Fee Description, Invoice Period, total amount invoiced and GST included in that amount.
